WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON

A Process Built Around Fewer Surprises

Most fence complaints come from vague quotes, missed permits and shallow posts. Our process is designed to remove all three.

One Written Price

Your quote lists footage, style, height, color, gates and removal line by line. The number we write is the number you pay.

No surprise add-ons

Paperwork Is Ours

We draw the plot plan, file the township permit and prepare the HOA packet, so you never stand in line at city hall.

Permits and HOA included

Built Below the Frost Line

Every post goes 42 inches deep in concrete, below the Michigan frost line, so the fence stays straight through freeze-thaw winters.

42″ post standard

You Sign Off Last

We walk the finished line with you, test every gate and latch, and haul away the spoils before we call the job done.

THE THREE PHASES

From Quote to Walkthrough in Three Phases

Every project, from a single gate to a full commercial perimeter, runs through the same three phases.

01

Step 1

Free On-Site Measure & Quote

An estimator meets you at the property, walks the fence line, marks gates and grade changes, and talks through materials, heights and your HOA or city limits.

TIMELINE

How Long Each Step Usually Takes

Most residential fences are built in one to three days. The calendar time around the build is set mostly by paperwork: township permit review and, where you have one, your homeowners association's architectural review. We file both as soon as you approve the quote so they run at the same time.

Miss Dig requires a few business days to mark buried utilities before anyone digs, and we schedule the crew to arrive right after. If anything changes along the way, such as an HOA asking for a different height or color, we update the quote in writing before work continues. You can see the materials on our fence styles page and typical pricing on our fence cost guide.

BEFORE YOUR ESTIMATE

Six Things That Make Your Measure Faster

None of these are required, but each one shortens the time from first call to finished fence.

Your Survey or Mortgage Plot

A property survey shows exactly where your lot lines are. If you do not have one, we will talk through options for confirming them.

HOA Rules

If you have an association, send us its fence guidelines. Many specify material, color and maximum height.

Gate Needs

Think about mowers, trailers, boats and trash bins. Gate width is far easier to get right before posts are set.

Pets and Pools

Dogs that dig or jump and pools that need a code-compliant barrier both change the right height and style.

Old Fence Removal

Tell us if an existing fence needs to come out. We remove and haul it as part of the job and list it on the quote.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions About Our Process

Straight answers on scheduling, paperwork and what happens on build day.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The on-site measure and the written quote are free, with no obligation. You get an itemized price you can compare against any other bid.

Do I need to be home for the measure and the build?

It helps to be there for the measure so we can walk the line together. For the build, we only need access to the yard and a way to reach you; we ask you to join us for the final walkthrough.

Who pulls the fence permit?

We do. We prepare the plot plan, file the permit with your city or township and handle the HOA submission if you have one, then schedule the build once approvals are in.

What happens on build day?

The crew confirms the line and the Miss Dig marks, removes any old fence, sets posts 42 inches deep in concrete, installs panels and gates, and adjusts every latch. Most yards are finished in one to three days.

What if the weather delays the job?

Concrete and digging need workable ground, so heavy rain or frozen soil can move the schedule. We call you with the new date; your quoted price does not change.

Is the work warrantied?

Yes. Every build carries our workmanship warranty, and vinyl and aluminum systems carry their manufacturer’s material warranty. We go over both at the walkthrough.
