WHAT YOU GET
Total Privacy Without a Stain Can in the Garage
A full-privacy vinyl fence is a solid wall of interlocking PVC boards. Here is what separates one that stays tight for decades from one that rattles loose in three winters.
Interlocking Tongue-and-Groove
Each board locks into the next, so there are no gaps to shrink open as the seasons change, the way wood boards do.
Zero see-through, year round
Virgin PVC, Not Regrind
We install virgin PVC with titanium dioxide UV inhibitors and impact modifiers, so white stays white and boards stay flexible below zero.
No yellowing, no chalking
Built for Wind Load
A 6-foot solid panel catches a lot of wind. Deep concrete footings and aluminum-stiffened rails keep it from racking on open lots.
42″ posts, metal inserts
Expansion Gaps Done Right
PVC grows and shrinks with temperature. We leave manufacturer-spec room at rail pockets so panels never buckle in July or pop out in January.
No summer bowing
6 FOOT OR 8 FOOT
Choosing the Right Height and Style for Your Lot
Six feet is the standard backyard privacy height in Metro Detroit and is allowed in rear yards by nearly every city and township in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb. Eight feet blocks a second-story sightline or a busy road, but many communities only allow it on certain lot lines or with a variance. We confirm your lot's rules before quoting. Front yards are a different story: most cities cap them around 3 to 4 feet, which is where vinyl picket and semi-privacy styles take over.
Style is about the top third of the panel. A flat-top solid panel gives the most privacy for the money. Lattice and closed-spindle tops trade a few inches of solid screening for a softer look that many HOAs prefer. Woodgrain textures add cost but read as cedar from the patio. Whatever you pick, we hang matching walk and drive gates from the same product line, and the full lineup lives on our vinyl fencing hub.

PRIVACY PANEL STYLES
Six Ways to Build a Solid Vinyl Fence
Every style below uses the same deep footings and reinforced rails. The differences are the look, the top detail and the price per foot.
Solid Flat-Top
Smooth tongue-and-groove boards to a straight top rail. Maximum screening per dollar and the most common backyard build we do.
Lattice Top
A solid lower panel with about a foot of lattice above. Popular with HOAs and pairs well with climbing plants. Adds roughly $3–$6 per foot.
Closed Spindle Top
Solid panel topped with tight vertical spindles. A finished, upscale look that still blocks most sightlines.
Woodgrain Texture
Embossed grain in cedar, walnut or gray tones. Looks like stained wood from 10 feet away with no sealing ever.
Horizontal Privacy
Wide horizontal boards in a modern profile, increasingly common in newer Oakland and Macomb subdivisions. Usually 6 feet tall.
Two-Tone Accents
Tan or khaki boards framed by contrasting posts and caps. A small upgrade that keeps a long run from looking flat.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Vinyl Privacy Fence Questions
What homeowners ask us most before they sign.
How much does a vinyl privacy fence cost in Metro Detroit?
Most 6-foot full-privacy vinyl projects land between $35 and $55 per linear foot installed. Eight-foot panels, woodgrain textures, lattice tops, gates and old-fence removal push the number up. You get an exact itemized price after the free on-site measure.
How long does a vinyl privacy fence last in Michigan?
Virgin PVC with UV inhibitors typically lasts 25 years or more, and most product lines carry a lifetime limited material warranty. The parts that fail early are shallow posts and unreinforced rails, which is why we set posts 42″ deep and insert aluminum into every bottom rail.
Can a vinyl privacy fence go on a sloped yard?
Yes. Solid vinyl panels are usually stepped, meaning each section sits level and drops at the post. We trim and fill under the bottom rail so pets cannot slip through the triangles on steeper grades.
Will a solid vinyl fence blow over in a storm?
Not when it is built right. Wind failures on vinyl almost always trace back to posts set 24 to 30 inches deep or hollow rails. Our posts go below the 42″ frost line in concrete and gate posts get steel stiffeners.
Do I need a permit for a 6-foot vinyl fence?
In most Wayne, Oakland and Macomb communities, yes. We check your city's height and setback rules, draw the plot plan, file the permit and submit any HOA paperwork before we schedule the crew.
Is vinyl or wood better for a privacy fence?
Vinyl costs more up front but needs no staining and no board replacement, so it usually costs less over 15 years. If you want a natural cedar look, compare our solid board wood privacy fences.
